Reporting to the Director of Faculty Development, the Associate Director, Faculty Development is responsible for leading a group of faculty and/or unit advancement programs. The Associate Director is a senior member of the Faculty Development team working with several smaller-scale units on the planning, implementation, integration, management and evaluation of their faculty/unit-based fundraising programs. The Associate Director may act on behalf of the Director of Faculty Development in their absence and may lead team meetings and discussions across Alumni and Development.
This role will be required to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative while being in a dynamic team environment where flexibility and multi-tasking is essential.

Alumni Relations and Development is the division of the university responsible for creating strong relationships and building philanthropic commitment between the University of Victoria and its alumni, friends and community members with the goal of increasing personal involvement and commitment to the philanthropic support of the university’s academic mission and priorities. About the position:
Working in collaboration with Deans/unit heads, the Associate Director, Faculty Development is responsible for leading a small team of faculty/academic unit frontline fundraisers working in distinctly different, complex, and diverse cultures to create and implement the strategic direction of the faculty/unit fundraising programs.
In alignment with the Director, Faculty Development, the Associate Director provides strategic direction and oversees the day-to-day operations of their team towards their annual fundraising goals, set in conjunction with the Deans/unit heads.
The Associate Director acts as a fundraising resource to assigned faculty-based advancement teams and provides mentorship and coaching to Deans/unit heads and faculty-based Development leaders (Senior Development Officers, Development Officers) and their teams to articulate priorities, identify and qualify prospects and to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies with a focus on major and principal gifts.

The salary range for this position is:
Recruitment range: $106,897 - $133,623 maximum starting salary is determined through knowledge, experience and internal equity.
Performance range: $153,666 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
